5 injured in overnight shootings









Shootings across the city late Saturday and early Sunday left at least five people injured, authorities said.


About 2:15 a.m., a male was shot in the head in the 3500 block of West Diversey Avenue, Chicago Police Department News Affairs Officer Amina Greer said.


He was taken from the scene of the shooting in the Northwest Side's Belmont Gardens neighborhood to Norwegian-American Hospital, where his condition was stabilized.





About 12:20 a.m., a woman and a man and a man were shot on the 1200 block of West 18th Street in the West Side's Pilsen neighborhood.


The woman, who is 23, was taken in critical condition to John H. Stroger, Jr. Hospital of Cook County with a gunshot wound to the face, police said. The man, who is 21, was also taken to Stroger, where he was listed in good condition with a gunshot wound to the arm.


Earlier, about 11 p.m. a man was shot by someone exiting a vehicle in the 100 block of East 49th Street in the South Side's Bronzeville neighborhood, police said.

The 21-year-old man was taken to Stroger, where his condition was stabilized.


About 5:19 a.m., a male was shot on the 3300 block of West Crystal Street in the West Side’s Humboldt Park neighborhood, police said.
